THE PRIMARY THEMES OF THE HEART TRIAD INCLUDE:

I OVER-CONNECT TO OTHERS which fits my idealized image of who I should be in the eyes of the other. Meanwhile, I leave my own personal experience rather than coming home to myself, as you are in this present moment.

DOING: I “imitate and respond” to what is sensed in environment so focus of attention is outside of myself: I may do an idealized “show” of feelings in a desire for attention to be helpful (2), successful (3), special and engaged in a distinct way(4). This “doing” takes me away from what I am really feeling in the moment.

GUILT: I take excessive responsibility for relationships and their challenges.

I PLACE AN EXCESSIVE FOCUS ON TURNING INNER PRACTICE INTO ANOTHER “DOING”: MY Enneagram transformative work or spiritual work gets turned into methods and things “I have to do” which sometimes takes ME away from where I am right now. My spiritual life becomes less about “doing” than about “be-ing.” “Be-ing” isn’t a goal to get to. When I do this, I miss being gently with where I am now in this moment. It’s about receptivity.
